Trio Tells What Inspires Their Topic In Letters

Three of our regular letter writers yesterday shared what inspires them to contribute.
Timoci Gaunavinaka, Liu Feng and Dharmendra Kumar won Philip Hair Dryers as part of the Fiji Sun and Court partnership promotion.
Liu Feng, 64 of Suva, was happy to be named as one of the winners.
“I often write about how Fiji can improve and develop business wise.
I love Fiji and I want Fiji to improve because I am a Fijian. I was born in China and came to Fiji in 1995,” Mr Liu said.
“I didn’t expect to win because I didn’t know that there were prizes to be won.
I am glad to have been recognised. I will continue to write for the Fiji Sun.”
Another winner, Timoci Gaunavinaka, 54 said he wanted to write about issues affecting Fijians.
“I write when I am free. When I feel that there are some issues that
I can contribute on,” Mr Gaunavinaka said.
“There were many people complaining about the Government of the day.
They were saying that everything that is happening now is bad but the reality is that there are so many good things that this Government has done.
“I didn’t know that I was going to win because for me as long as my letters gets published I am happy.” Mr Kumar said: “When I feel
I have something to write about then I write.
“I write about issues in regards to politics and spiritual issues.
“I am always interested to write on politics and Fiji Sun enables me to do that.
“I get lucky when my letters get printed. I try and write on issues surrounding us when I think I can contribute to it positively.”
