Lautoka Football Association president Abdul Kadar said he would always be there for Lautoka and if people want to contest for positions during their annual general meeting on February 28 then they are most welcome to.

“Lautoka FA does not belong to me,” Kadar told SUNsports on Tuesday night.

During the AGM posts are up for grabs. That would be for all office bearers, including president, secretary, treasurer, assistant secretary and all vice- presidents’ positions.

“It is four years, since we were elected to run the affairs of the association after it was run by interim officials who were appointed by Fiji FA back in 2013.

“With my current set of officials we have had four good seasons and I proudly say that we managed to bring back some glory to the city, if not all.

“With the elections coming up, I would like to make a call to people out there who may be having a better idea of investing and developing Lautoka FA to even greater heights to please come forward.

“They should file in their nominations so they can be in the running for a post in the association.

“I have been reliably informed by a few clubs that there is one person who is part of the executive team but is currently working behind the scene and forming groups, meeting club delegates and seeking their support.

“It has been brought to us that this particular person is writing petitions and asking the clubs to sign.”

Kadar said his current set of officials were not sure if they would be seeking re election given that their four- year term has lapsed.

During the term of the present officials, achievements include winning the; 2016- Battle of the Giants; 2017- Vodafone National League, Courts Inter-district Championship; 2018- Vodafone Premier League, IDC Championship, Runners-up in OFC Champions League, Pacific Cup; 2019- OFC Champions League representation.

“For me personally I’ve few plans for me as well and I will see how it goes and decide before the nominations close whether to seek a re- election,” Kadar added.
