Fiji Police: 2 Men In Custody For Car Theft

Two men in their 40s are in custody at the Samabula Police Station after they were found with cars allegedly stolen last year.

The matter came to light when the owner of a black Fielder which was reported stolen from Samabula in November last year, recognised the roof rack on a red Fielder parked at the CWM Hospital car park on Thursday, which he revealed to Police was similar to one that was mounted on his car.

Police were alerted and arrested the suspect and upon further investigation, information was gathered on the second suspect’s involvement in the alleged theft of vehicles last year.

A team of officers pursued the second suspect at Korociriciri in Nausori and arrested the second suspect who was found allegedly driving the black fielder which was stolen last year.

Further investigations have also led to the discovery of another stolen vehicle which the first suspect was in possession of.

The red Fielder seized from the CWM Hospital was allegedly stolen from Samabula in May last year and was stripped and repainted from Silver grey to red.

The two remain in custody as investigations continue.
