Multibeam Sonar Training For Fiji Navy
Training conducted by the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office has helped enhance the capabilities of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Naval Division.

An in-house training on the use of multibeam sonar ended on Friday with the completion of a resurvey of the Suva Harbour approach.

The training, which was provided by the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office, allowed members of the RFMF Naval Division’s Hydrographic department the opportunity to better acquaint themselves in surveys using multibeam sonar.

The Fiji Hydrographic office will continue to build its capability and enhance its capacity in supporting Fiji’s blue economy.

Blue economy is a term in economics relating to the exploitation and preservation of the marine environment. Source: RFMF Naval Division
