Fijians In Vancouver Raise $14K For ‘Our Boys’
The Fijian community in Canada fundraise for our rugby 7s side.

A themed Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team fundraiser in Surrey, Canada has garnered $9000 (FJ$14,500) on Friday.

Petaia Usakilakeba, the coordinator for the dinner and dance fundraiser praised the community for raising the amount that would be distributed equally to the players and management during a meet and greet function ahead of the March 9-10, weekend of the Canada Sevens at BC Place in Vancouver.

“Our Fijian community in Vancouver have proven that we can achieve unity and love by working together as one, putting our differences behind and live the way the world should be,” he said.

“I’m proud to say that our community raised more than $9,000 from the collective effort of everyone that supported this good cause for our rugby boys.”

“Friday night was a very great evening for most of us”.

Petaia thanked everyone for their kind support and caring heart to make last night a memorable one.

Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team is in Las Vegas for this weekend’s USA Sevens.

Fiji is in Pool D with Australia, Wales and Scotland.
