Sajal Narayan: Stay Focused, Work Hard

Nothing comes easy, says Sajal Narayan.
The 32-year-old of Nasorowaqa in Bua, who now lives in the United States of America said starting a living there was “very tough”.
He is now the President for District 6 Western Virginia Best Bet Motor Sales Corp and State Vice President for Virginia Independent Automobile Dealer’s Association (VIADA).
His parents won the Green Card lottery 19 years ago when he was just a 12-year-old kid.
“We went to America with my parents saving of only $10, 000,” he said.
“My Dad worked really hard doing handyman work, odds time jobs and he saved up.”
Mr Narayan said by 2002 his dad saved up to $40,000 to start his business.
He added that his dad bought a motel to start with and their business grew over time.
“We kept saving up and bought another motel and two gas stations with convenience stores,” he said.
The two motels have a total of 58 rooms.
After graduating in 2008, Mr Narayan said he wanted to start his own business and because of his love for cars, he started his car dealership business with an investment of $200,000 given to him by his father.
Today, the family also owns a trucking company with 12 trucks and Rental properties in real estate providing employment to more than 30 people in Leechburg on Virginia in the US.
Mr Narayan emphasised that success does not come easy but if the heart is willing then there won’t be any barrier.
“A lot of sacrifices were made to get there,” he said.
He encouraged youths to stay focused on their goals and once they have achieved their goals, things would just fall in place.
