A holiday trip to Sri Lanka has turned tragic after a man died in a road accident there.

Businessman and strong Hari Bol devotee Chandra Prakash of Saweni, Lautoka, is said to have died while travelling in a bus from Colombo to Marawila, Sri Lanka. The bus collided with two trucks and crashed into a transformer.

Mr Prakash left on February 10, and was supposed to return on March 28.

His son, Arjun Prakash, described the painful moment he had to relay the message to his mother.

Arjun said those were one of the most painful minutes of his life.

The late Mr Prakash’s wife, who did not wish to be named, said: “My husband was a strong devotee to Lord Venkatesh and Sri Krishna Radha, he would visit every temple just to be in the presence of his god.

“He visited India three times and it was his first to Sri Lanka, he told me that he coming back he will go to see where his grandfather lived in India.”

His youngest son left to Sri Lanka to identify his father body.

His funeral will take place at his residence on Friday.
