Suspects In Custody For Alleged Drugs, Yaqona Theft

A man from Nalawa, Ra is in Police custody following a raid where close to 400 dried branches were uprooted.
The 34-year-old farmer remains in Rakiraki Police custody while the uprooted dried branches of more than 20 plants ranging from two to three meters in height, have been sent for testing.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that investigation continues.
Meanwhile, a farmer in Tukavesi, Natewa, in Cakaudrove has alleged 20 of his yaqona plants were stolen. Four people are in Police custody while investigation continues.
This came to light when the four people were suspected by Police as acting in a suspicious manner and eventually they were arrested at the junction of Tukavesi Village.
Naisoro said the four suspects are alleged to have stolen the 20 yaqona plants, which the Police have recovered.
