Youth leaders across Fiji will benefit from a new partnership between ANZ and Ola Fou to deliver MoneyMinded and Business Basics, ANZ’s flagship financial literacy programmes, across Fiji.

Ola Fou, which means new life, empowers young Pacific leaders to work for positive change in their communities.

ANZ Fiji Country Head, Saud Minam, said: “As part of our initial three-year partnership, ANZ will provide Ola Fou with training and accreditation to deliver both MoneyMinded and Business Basics.

“These programs have been successful in improving financial literacy and will add value to the great work Ola Fou is already doing in communities here in Fiji.”

Around 12,000 people in Fiji have already taken part in MoneyMinded, made up of 78 per cent female participants and 22 per cent male participants.

An independent report, prepared by the University of the South Pacific, reveals that most MoneyMinded participants have acquired useful and relevant financial knowledge and skills for the daily management of money; more positive attitudes and behaviours towards managing money; and new skills including setting financial goals, budgeting, saving and investing.

Ola Fou Fiji Chairman, Geoffrey Nainoca, said: “We are pleased to partner with ANZ to deliver MoneyMinded in the villages and settlements we support across Fiji.

He said: “Our footprint extends to Tonga, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Kiribati and PNG, so there is opportunity to grow our partnership in the future.”
