Fiji Rugby: Fijian 7s Attraction In Vegas

As always the performance of the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s team have created a lot of interest in the 2018/19 HSBC World Sevens Series.
IMPACT PLAYER
At the end of Day 1, the DHL Impact Player (Las Vegas) has got first five eight Waisea Nacuqu in second place.
The deceptive playmaker made an impressive 6 tackles, 2 Breaks, 1 Off-load, 8 Carries for a total of 17 points.
Leading the race is Conor Braid of Canada with 21 points while tied with Nacuqu is Australia’s Ben O’Donnnell.
The Votua, Ba native wrapped his first day performance with three tries. But on the overall Series tracker, Vilimoni Botitu and Kalione Nasoko are on third and fourth place respectively.
FUTURE COMBO
According to USA Rugby website, fans should keep a lookout for the Vilimoni Botitu/ Aminiasi Tuimaba combination.
The Americans are betting that this could be Fiji’s future combination for the defending Olympic champs.
SERIES TRY SCORER
Alasio Naduva slipped to second place with 21 tries while USA’s Calin Isles leads with 22.
Naduva scored only try on the first day after brilliantly finishing off a Nasoko offload.
FANS GALORE
Fijian fans were out at the Sam Boyd Stadium in full force on the first day of the USA 7s. More fans are expected to come in today and tomorrow.
Captain Nasoko said the presence of the fans has really boosted their game.
YELLOW CARD
A dangerous tackle saw Botitu copped a yellow card against Scotland while Sevuloni Mocenacagi will be eligible to play during the Cup quarterfinals after serving his four-match ban.
