Traffic nuisance

Keshwan Nadan, Nasinu

It is a nuisance driving through Grantham Road near Damodar City.

We thank the Fiji Roads Authority for providing two-lane driving towards USP. But it’s unfortunate that one lane has been fully utilised by taxis from Nausori, Nasinu, Valelevu which they are supposed to operate in their respective areas.

It is difficult to drive through that road, which has been occupied by the taxis.

Can the authorities concerned intervene and remove these taxis to operate from their respective taxi bases?

The Police should start booking these taxi drivers and if booked twice, please cancel and revoke their taxi permit.

I have seen most of these taxi drivers being booked so many times and they still don’t learn their lesson.

The authorities should enforce harsher penalties otherwise we will see accidents happen daily.
Children having children

Simon Hazelman, Rava Estate, Savusavu

Far too many of our children are having children.

It is a disturbing trend that many of us have either experienced within our families or know of it happening to others.

What’s disturbing most of all is that these youngsters seem to be delighted about having babies.

Reality sets in after they find out that taking care of a child is not an easy thing after all!

Many are just students who can barely even take care of themselves let alone their newborn child.

The burden ends up with their parents, grandparents or guardians.

This trend of our children having children is certainly happening more often and causing lots of unnecessary issues, stress and inconvenience.

The pressing question is where are we and what’s happening to us as parents?

Can someone equate the necessity of limiting our island news?
