The Siberia, Labasa native thanked the Fiji FA for recognition his effort

“It’s always good to come home and especially get recognized by Fiji Football,” he said.

“They’ve done so much and I know I still have a lot to do so I just want to thank them.

“I want to thank my club in Wellington for giving me two days off to be part of this occasion.”

Fiji FA chief executive Mohammed Yusuf said Krishna deserved the award after an exceptional performance for Wellington Phoenix club in the last four months.

Guest speaker Mikael Silvestre also praised Krishna for his passion.

League in 7 years: Patel

Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel said they plan to introduce league in the next seven years.

The first step is to ensure Fiji qualifies for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA.

As part of its development plan, the Fiji Under-16 team will be travelling to Israel this year to participate in a competition organised by the OFC.

Five players will take part in a development programme with the Victorian Multi-cultural Association in Melbourne.

He also confirmed Ba’s midfielder Naren Rao Junior has signed with the Victorian Multi-Cultural Association to play for a professional league club in Australia. Germany-based Nicholas Prasad is set to join him later this year.
