Nagigi Crash: 1 Dead, 2 Discharged And 2 Still In Hospital

One of the passengers Ashok Kumar said that the vehicle in front had not signaled to turn right and in order to prevent the collision the driver made a turn and landed them in the ditch.

A 30-year-old man from Coqeloa, Labasa, has died resulting from internal injuries he sustained in an accident at Nagigi stretch last Wednesday afternoon.

Bimlesh Prasad and his passengers were on their way home from work when the accident occurred.

One of the passengers Ashok Kumar said that the vehicle in front had not signaled to turn right and in order to prevent the collision the driver made a turn and landed them in the ditch.

Parents of the deceased are still in shock after receiving news of the accident.

“I didn’t expect to hear the news about my son half an hour after the accident, I was shocked and we are still trying to come to terms with the loss of our son,” said his father, Jack Prasad.

“I only have one son, I can’t believe that he is no more,” said his emotional mother, Urmila Devi.

There were four other passengers, two who were discharged with minor injuries, while two are still admitted, one of whom a woman was air lifted to CWM Hospital on Sunday.

The deceased is survived by his wife and two children.

The cremation will be held at Coqeloa Cemetery at 1pm tomorrow.
