POLITICS ENTERS UNIFIJI ROW

The UniFiji row appears to have not escaped the eyes of Opposition politicians.

The president of the University of Fiji Students Association, Ratu Sailosi Raimoqe Dawai revealed this in an email to the Prime Minister’s office seeking an audience with the PM about their grievances.

“I wish to inform you that the Leader for Opposition Mr. Sitiveni Rabuka is asking us for details and is willing to assist us in displaying an image of support …. To pressure the government to do something.

“I really do not want to have this to be in their advantage. Please if there is any chance that you can speed up our appointment and intervention.”.

VILLAGE HEADMEN BEWARE
Turaga-ni-koro (village headmen) beware of whistleblowers.

Take for example this villager who has been monitoring the conduct of their village headman for sometime.

He contacted BTL and alleged that their village headman had turned a blind eye to illegal activities in their traditional fishing grounds.

He has been directed to contact the relevant authorities. BTL understands this is not the first case.

TRUTH STILL OUT THERE

A political party could soon be caught out on its rhetorics. It brags about its democratic principles and doing things based on merit.

Some events could soon unfold to show otherwise. The truth is still out there

FIJIAN PASSPORTS

More and more Fijians living overseas are seeking to regain their Fijian passports.

This is because they want to maintain their links with Fiji and would like to travel here and help those in need from time to time.

An Australian source said they en- countered one problem, the long time it took to process applications.
If the processing time is sorted Fiji could see a sudden spike in the number of Fijians arriving to help.

The Immigration Department may need to review its system
