Every game and every leg of the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series is different.

You take both at a time, says Fiji Airways Fijian 7s head coach Gareth Baber.

He made the very comment when asked about his team’s anemic run during the USA Sevens last weekend and what fans can expect during the Canada Sevens this weekend.

“The fact of the matter is every event and every game are different”, he said.

“I as the coach of the team have the same mentality as the players and that is to win every game of every leg but sometimes it doesn’t turn out that way.”

Baber said it doesn’t suggest that his team holds itself from giving their best, adding the boys always play to win.

“We didn’t do too well in USA, but Canada Sevens is another event.

“We have been doing everything to minimize our errors. We will come out strong form the first game.”

Baber was spot on with his prediction last year, when he said he was confident of winning the Canada Sevens, his team backed it up with the title.

He refused to make any such predictions this year.

“A game at a time,” Baber said.

Meanwhile, Baber is expected to name his 13-member squad today.
