We want to assure you that we will continue to support you, said Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development, Waterways and Environment Mahendra Reddy to Nakoro villagers of Nadroga.

Mr Reddy said it was equally important for Government to support farmers as well as supporting their children education.

“Though you are far away from the towns and cities, you are not forgotten,” Mr Reddy said.

“You are always on our mind when we are making policies and making decisions about what we need to do about expanding and improving and increasing agriculture. We keep you all, in the interior and in the maritime division, on our minds.

“We are looking forward to making and improving your life in a progressive manner.

“We want to thank you for supporting Government initiatives, your contribution in ensuring that this place is organic, free of any chemical usage of fertilizer. Your support to the

Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) programme,” he said.

“You are making a significant contribution by participating in these programmes to the country’s growth and development.

“We want to assure you today that we will continue to support you, we will continue to support your children so that they can get better education.”
