First Offender Pleads Guilty, Awaits Sentencing

A Suva man facing aggravated robbery charges pleaded guilty at the High Court in Suva yesterday.

Jeko Nadrakoro appeared before Justice Daniel Goundar.

It is alleged that on January 16, 2019, in Suva, the accused with others robbed the complainant Saleshni Devi of her handbag containing two mobile phones, two gold chains, assorted cards and $50 cash.

The court heard that the accused was on bail and had no previous convictions.

State prosecutor Sadaf Shameem read the summary of facts and told the court that injury was inflicted on the complainant.

The matter was adjourned for mitigation and sentencing submissions on March 20.

Nadrakoro’s bail was further extended pending sentencing.
