Fiji 7s Prop Paula Draunisinikula Ready To Lead If Needed

Fiji Airways Fijian 7s prop Paula Dranisinukula says he’s ready to lead the team once again if he is given the green light to do so.
The Ra native took over the captaincy job after Kalione Nasoko sustained injuries during the Canada 7s in Vancouver.
“He (Nasoko) is injured and I hope he recovers in time and if not then I will be ready to lead but all rest with the team management,” he said.
“We learned a lot and there are new players in the team and therefore there is a change in our rhythm. It will be okay in the coming tournaments and it will take time.”
The 29-year-old has also captained the Fijian Development 7s during a tournament in Germany.
The Suva soldier also admitted that playing in the upcoming Hong Kong 7s will not be a walk in the park.
“It is a tough pool but we will be prepared for that. There are two top teams who are rated well in the series. As all teams cannot be taken easily, now smaller teams are coming up like Spain beating New Zealand and we losing to Canada.”
“On the same note, forward Josua Vakurinabuli said he’s happy with their performance but there are lots of improvements to be done before going to the Hong Kong 7s.”
