Imam Hafiz Musa Patel has been confirmed as one of the Fijians shot during the deadly terror attacks in Christchurch, New Zealand, yesterday.
Sources have confirmed that former Fiji Muslim League Pesh Imaam, Hafiz Musa Patel of Lautoka is in critical condition at a Christchurch hospital. He is among the injured in the Christchurch terror attacks.
Family confirmed Pesh Imaam Patel was shot in the back during the shooting.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has confirmed that up to 40 people have been killed.
Four people, three men and a woman, have been arrested in relation to the attacks on two mosques-Al Noor and Linwood in Christchurch.
A number of Fijians are believed to have been at the Linwood Mosque for Friday prayers.
