Marist And Grammar Dominates 2019 Suva Zone 2 Competition

In the girls division, Suva Grammar finished first with 22 gold, 11 silver and 16 bronze medals St Joseph’s Second­ary School second with 19 gold medals, 22 silvers, 10 bronze while Serua-based Nuku Secondary School came third with 3 gold medals and 3 silver.

Marist Brothers High School and Suva Grammar School dominated the 2019 Suva Zone 2 competition at the ANZ Stadium, yesterday.

The Flagstaff boys collected 34 gold, 26 silvers and 20 bronze medals, Suva Grammar second (17,16,12) while Jai Narayan College finished third (0,2, 0).

In the girls division, Suva Grammar finished first with 22 gold, 11 silver and 16 bronze medals St Joseph’s Second­ary School second with 19 gold medals, 22 silvers, 10 bronze while Serua-based Nuku Secondary School came third with 3 gold medals and 3 silver.

Suva Zone 2 Athletics Association secretary Ashish Prasad was amazed with the level competition delivered by the schools.

“I’m overwhelmed with the pro­gramme proper and hats off to hosting school MBHS for making it happen,” Prasad said

“There has been amazing talent and competition from renowned schools around Suva today and we hope to con­tinue with same competitive spirit in the Coca-Cola Games next month.”

The Triple N Zone gets underway to­day along with the completion of the Tavua, Macuata 1, Macuata 2, Savusa­vu, Nadroga/ Navosa zones.
