Cuvu College, Sigatoka Methodist Top

Cuvu College bagged 25 gold medals, eight silver and 10 bronze medals ahead of Sigatoka Methodist College (12, 8, 10) and Sigatoka Andhra (5, 9, 10) to win the boys division.

Defending champions Cuvu College and Sigatoka Methodist College retained their titles during the Nadroga Navosa Secondary Schools Athletics Zone meet at the Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka yesterday.

Cuvu College bagged 25 gold medals, eight silver and 10 bronze medals ahead of Sigatoka Methodist College (12, 8, 10) and Sigatoka Andhra (5, 9, 10) to win the boys division.

In the girls’ category, Sigatoka Methodist College won 19 gold, seven silver and six bronze medals ahead of Na­vosa Central and St Theresa.

Zone meet manager Ifereimi Turuva said; “We are happy with the performance of athletes.”

The best male athlete was Paula Nasara of Cuvu Col­lege for scoop­ing gold in the blue ribbon and long jump (sen­ior boys) event and best female athletes were awarded to Se­senabaravi Alu­mita of Nasikawa Vision College and Sainimere Torosi of Sigatoka Methodist College.
