Christchurch Shootings: Pesh Imam Condemns Mosques Shooting

The Pesh Imam of the Maunatul Islam Association of Fiji, Alim Muhiyideen Shah Faizi, has condemned the shooting incident in Christchurch, New Zealand, on Friday.
Mr Faizi, 57, who came to Fiji from Kerala in India in 1991, yesterday expressed sympathy to the victims’ families on behalf of the association.
“As the pesh imam of the association at its mosque in Maururu in Ba, I condemn the action in Christchurch and whatever that has happened,” he said.
“I pass my sincere sympathy to the families of all the victims and I also pray for them.
“I also pray for all the victims and ask Allah to grant them jannatul firdaus (paradise).”
The former Pesh Imam of Fiji Muslim League’s Lautoka Jame Masjid who came to Fiji in 1989, Hafiz Musa Patel, and two former Fiji residents were known to have died by yesterday after falling victims to the shooting incident on Friday.
