The Macuata Rugby Union has put together their extended squad as they start preparing for the upcoming Vodafone Vanua Championship.

MRU games manager Isoa Rokobici has called on players who have been named to report to training on Monday at Subrail Park, ground 2, at 4.30pm.

“These players are to represent Macuata at the Vodafone Vanua Championship which will start on April 13,” Rokobici said.

Players have been urged to contact Rokobici on 8764246 or coach Levaci Digitaki on 7343244, if they need any other information.

Rokobici said they had started their club competition last weekend.

“The challenge will be going for twelve weeks to prepare the Macuata squad for the Vanua Championship.”

In the Cup challenge, Breakthrough beat Police 7-0 in a scrappy affair at Subrail Park yesterday.

“Teams that want to challenge Breakthrough should train and prepare well for the match,” Rokobici said.

“The Breakthrough team consist of players from the Christian Mission Fellowship youths and they have a fit and disciplined side.”

Last Saturday, Breakthrough also beat Wailevu to hold on to the Cup.

Meanwhile, in the Katonivere Shield challenge, Qoibau walloped Kurabui 15-0.
