Rev Bhagwan: Christchurch Attacks ‘Painful and Brutal’

General Secretary of the Pacific Conference of Churches Reverend James Bhagwan has described the Christchurch massacre as painful and brutal.
He spoke on behalf of the Christian community at a vigil prayer session organised by the Fiji Muslim League at the Makoi Women’s Vocational Training Centre last Sunday.
Reverend Bhagwan said he and other members of the Christian community were at the prayer vigil to express their solidarity with and love for the Muslim community.
“We are mourning with you, we are hurting with you and we will work to love one another and commit ourselves to ending any form of hate based on faith,” he said.
“We are all created in the image of God. We are all one people.”
Reverend Bhagwan shared a belief common in all faiths.
“Do unto others as you have them do unto you, or, do not do what you would not wish done on you,” he said.
Reverend Bhagwan added that as communities came together to grieve and come to terms with the painful incident, it was important that they all united and addressed it.
