Over the past 48 hours, approximately 80 per cent of Air Traffic Control officers have individually taken various forms of leave entitlement.

A statement from the officers said that Air Traffic Control officers disagreed with Fiji Airports Limited on pay and work related operational issues.

Based on reports received, these issues have persisted over the past few years and have been reported to Fiji Airports Management.

“Services are currently being provided by 5 ATC officers who have worked continuously for the past 48 hours out of the normal daily hours to complement the 17 officers for Nadi Center, Nadi Tower and Nausori Tower.”

“These 5 Officers are continuing to work at all three stations.”

The statement said the issue remains unresolved but the officers are hoping that an amicable resolution is achieved at the earliest.

Questions has been sent to Fiji Airports Limited, which they have yet to respond to.
