Newly Opened Takia Restaurant Brings A Modern Twist

The newly opened Takia Restaurant, located on Gordon Street, Suva has taken the fusion of Chinese and Fijian cuisine to a whole new level.
Takia Restaurant previously located in Mark Street was a popular spot for many capital city dwellers.
Owners Jack Zhang and Josie Zhou are confident that the popularity of the restaurant will retain and attract more patrons.
Ms Zhou said since the restaurant reopened at its new location last month they have been receiving a lot of positive feedbacks from neighbouring business houses.
Ms Zhou hopes the more subtle tropical setting with the modern twist will make patrons feel at home while enjoying their services.
“Opening a small wine and dine, coffee and tea restaurant was always the dream for me and my husband,” Ms Zhou said.
“The old Takia restaurant was closed and still a lot of people came to the restaurant enquiring.
“We wanted a more open setting for people to enjoy the sun and interact with each other.”
Challenges
Ms Zhou said the main challenge for them was adapting to the new environment in a different location.
“But it was worth it, and now we have plans of introducing new menus for our customers by May.”
The restaurant also hosts birthdays, lunches, business meetings etc.
Menus range from Fijian cuisines like ota miji, boiled eggplant to their Chinese specialty of creamy mushroom. and seafood harvest.
Ms Zhou added their highly recommended mean is the affordable Takia chicken burger.
