Students Pay Their Respects To The Christchurch Victims

The Fiji Muslim League was moved when students and teachers of Samabula Primary visited the Samabula Mosque to show their respect to their Muslim brothers and sisters.
The students were emotional when they signed the condolence book provided at the mosque.
They were the first school students to sign the condolence book.
Deputy Head Girl Maraia Tokalauvere said when she heard about the shooting she thought about the families of the victims.
“I was so sad when I heard about the news because the victims have families that cared about them. It is not fair that their life had to be taken away when they have so much to live for,” Maraia said.
“I read the news every day to be updated with what’s happening. I hope that the families find peace and those involved be taken to justice.
“There is nothing we can do but pray and hope that it never happens again.”
Teacher Ana Eta Cili said the students wanted to do something to show their support for their Muslim brothers and sisters.
“We are all human beings. When we put ourselves in their shoes we feel pain. We are so heartbroken that people lost their life because of someone’s hate,” Mrs Cili said.
”I am a Year 3 teacher and all they talk about is what happened in Christchurch during their morning talk exercise.
“I hope that everyone finds peace during this hard time. We are here for them.”
