It was a big moment for the New Zealand born Caleb Muntz to represent the Swire Shipping Fijian Warriors side during the 2019 World Rugby Pacific Challenge Cup.

The 19-year-old told SUNsports that he’s looking forward to delivering his best performance for the Fijian Under-20 side at the 2019 Junior World Cup on June 4-22 in Argentina.

“It’s a big honour for me to be representing the Fijian Warriors in the World Rugby Pacific Challenge Cup which just completed last weekend,” Muntz said.

“And it’s quite special for me to be able to perform and make it into the Pacific Combine side as well.

“There are some great talents in the side and it is a proud moment yet humbling for me to part of this team and continue developing as a rugby player.

“The big challenge for me is the language barrier I think all the boys are quite aware of it so they really make a big effort to keep me included and speak English when I am around.

“So, I come from a Maori background and there are some similar experiences and links to my Maori background as well. It’s just not to different from home and it doesn’t make me feel like being away from home for so long.

“Well! World Cup is the pinnacle of all rugby and there’s where everyone wants to be and perform their best and win the Web Ellis Cup.

“My focus right now is entirely on the combine team for this weekend and then moving into the under- 20’s side for the Junior World Cup in June.”
