Suva Duo to take Plea Next Month

Two men facing counts of aggravated burglary and theft each will take their plea next month.
Esala Vakawaletabua and Sekonaia Qalobula appeared before High Court judge Justice Daniel Goundar yesterday.

For the count of aggravated burglary, it is alleged that the two in the company of each other on November 18, 2018, at Suva, forcefully and unlawfully entered in a private home as trespasser with intent to steal.

For the count of theft, it is alleged that the two in the company of each other on the same day dishonestly appropriated one Alcatel and one HTC mobile phones, all to the total value of $205.

State Prosecutor from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Rajneel Kumar, sought for time to file information and disclosures.
The High Court granted him seven days to file the information.

Both the accused persons opted to represent themselves.
The matter was transferred to Justice Riyaz Hamza for plea and trial proper. The matter was adjourned to April 29 for mention. Bail was extended for both the accused persons.
