Amenoni Nasilasila Case Transferred To Suva

The State informed the court that the matter would not be withdrawn after the Defence made a representation to the Director of Public Prosecutions requesting for the matter to be withdrawn.

This matter was called today at the Lautoka High Court before Justice Rangajeeva Wimalasena.

The former Fiji sevens player, Amenoni Nasilasila, is charged with one count of rape. It is alleged that he raped a 24-year-old woman in Sigatoka on 22 December 2018.

The State informed the court that the matter would not be withdrawn after the Defence made a representation to the Director of Public Prosecutions requesting for the matter to be
withdrawn.

The charge was read to the accused and he pleaded not guilty.

The case has been transferred to the Suva High Court and will be called for mention on 10 April 2019.

The accused person’s bail has been further extended.
