New Executive And Management Appointments For BSP Life

The Managing Director of BSP Life, Michael Nacola yesterday an­nounced three new appoint­ments, an executive appoint­ment for Curtis Mar to the role of general manager Distribution and Marketing, and two senior management appointments for Gyanesh Rueben as the Head of Invest­ments and Ronlyn Sahib as the manager Legal.

About Mr May

Mr May, who is originally from Nadi, joins BSP Life af­ter 32 years in the banking in­dustry, most recently as Head of Corporate (Western Divi­sion) for Bank South Pacific. Apart from his extensive ex­perience in financial services, Curtis is renowned for his vast network in the corporate and business communities.

His commercial acumen and business relationships are key assets that will assist him in his new role.

He has also represented Fiji in lawn bowls as a player from 1994 to 2008 winning a Sil­ver Medal in the 2008 World Championships and was a Team Manager from 2012 to 2018.

About Mr Rueben

Mr Rueben is originally from Lautoka and joins the BSP Life Investments team from the Unit Trust of Fiji where he spent 17 years working in the Accounting, Finance and Portfolio management fields. Gyanesh graduated with a Degree in Commerce & Fi­nancial management and a Master of Business Adminis­tration from the University of the South Pacific.

He is currently pursuing a Master of Applied Finance from Kaplan Professional University in Sydney, Aus­tralia, is an approved licensed advisor with Reserve Bank of Fiji and a Senior Associate with Financial Services Insti­tute of Australasia (SA-FIN­SIA). Mr Gyanesh is a keen golfer and soccer player and enjoys traveling.

About Ms Sahib

Mr Sahib joins the BSP Life legal team from Siwatibau & Sloan where she began prac­tice as a Lawyer in 2011.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the Univer­sity of the South Pacific and a Professional Diploma in Le­gal Practice.

She was admitted to the High Court of Fiji in 2011 as a Barrister & Solicitor and has completed certified training courses in construction con­tracts and disputes with Men­dis & Cobain Consultants, commercial contracts with Cambridge Law Studio and is an accredited mediator with the Centre for Dispute Assess­ment & Resolution.

Mr Sahib has a strong com­mercial law background with particular experience in contracts, companies law, regulation and compliance, employment, property and transactional work.

In making the announce­ment Mr Nacola stated: “We are delighted to welcome Cur­tis, Gyanesh and Ronlyn to the BSP Life family.

“Curtis has strong leader­ship skills and will assist our Distribution and Marketing team execute various strate­gic initiatives to strengthen our market leadership posi­tion and broaden the cover­age of life and health insur­ance in Fiji.

His appointment is from within the BSP Group and is a great testament to the focus on people development within BSP”.

Mr Nacola added: “Like­wise Gyanesh and Ronlyn come with great experience from their respective fields and we’re confident they will contribute positively to our brand, adding value to our customer’s investments, ele­vating our service and ensur­ing we meet our regulatory and compliance obligations.
