The Water Authority of Fiji has extended the water disruption notice for areas in Tacirua, Dokanaisuva and Colo-i- Suva to 6am today.

Water carting trucks are on standby to service the affected areas.

The WAF says the interruption in supply was due to the burst 600mm trunk main near the Waila Water Treatment Plant, which feeds treated water from the Waila Water Treatment Plant to the Wainibuku Reservoir.

Wainibuku system feeds other reservoirs including Tacirua Reservoir, Dokanaisuva Reservoir and Colo-i-Suva Reservoir.

WAF crew members are currently conducting restoration works.

Meanwhile Minister for Infrastructure Jone Usamate was made aware of the frustrations from residents affected.

When contacted for a comment yesterday, he said “WAF will be issuing a release on this.”

However, the statement was yet to be issued when this edition went to press last night.
