Facing Australia and New Zealand today, the Fiji Airways Fijian 7s players need to lift their game if they are to play in tomorrow’s Hong Kong 7s Cup quarter final.

Among them is forward Apenisa Cakaubalavu, who steps in for injured Kalione Nasoko and plays a crucial role in the side.

The Naroi, Moala, native from Lau is known for his ball-hunting skills and tough defence, which the team will bank on when under pressure.

This is his opportunity to stamp his spot in the run-on team and also for next year’s Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

On a positive note, wily halfback Seremaia Tuwai said the team would settle for nothing less than a win despite the tough competition expected over the three days.

“We always come to win tournaments, but sometimes things will go wrong,” the 30-year- old said.

“Right now, we’re focusing on Hong Kong and after that we’ll look to Singapore (where they are the defending champions).”
