Free but illegal parking.

Motorists parking on yellow lines and footpaths are inconsiderate of other road users and are breaking the law.

These were the concerns raised by Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moore.

“Illegal parking is becoming a concern for the FRA as it not only compromises pedestrian safety, but it continues to damage our infrastructure.”

“We are disappointed to see some drivers parking on the newly constructed footpath on the four lane project on Kings Road. This needs to stop immediately.”
He said they are urging motorists to please follow the rules and not to park vehicles on the footpaths, yellow lines and nature strips.

“We are working closely with the law enforcers to curb the issue of illegal parking and motorist that are found breaking the law will be dealt accordingly.”
