Coke Games 2019: New Record Holder Tells His Secret

Spiritual preparation inspired Vilimoni Susunikoro to not only win gold at the sub junior boy’s javelin but to set a Coca- Cola Games record as well.
The Ratu Kadavulevu School student threw a distance of 50.50 metres to erase St John’s Simione Koliloa’s throw of 47.63m set in 2017
“I thank God for this victory, my coaches, old boys and teachers for their support,” he said.
“Also I want to thank my grandfather Melilisio Batidua for his support.”
Susunikoro said he had trained very hard for the event but moreover he always relied on God for his direction.
“I was confident of breaking the record.
“Every day my coach always reminds me to throw 49m or 50m and break the record which I did.”
Susunikoro hails from Namosi and is a Year 9 student.
RKS are the defending Coca- Cola boy’s champions and they are confident of winning more gold medals today in the 400m, 800m and 100m finals.
Today’s event starts at 8am with the 200m heats followed by the 4x400m relays.
Also, we’ll be the high jump, long jump and field events finals as well.
