A resident of the Golden Age Home in Lautoka has been reported missing after returning from an overseas trip.

Shiv Anand, 67, arrived at the Nadi International Airport from Los Angeles in the United States of America on April 12, but he failed to return to the home.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said Mr Anand cleared himself with the Immigration Department at the airport.

Ms Naisoro said Mr Anand was due to return to the Golden Age Home where he had been residing since early 2018.

“According to his daughter who resides in New Zealand, several attempts to contact her father since April 12 have proven futile,” she said.

“A report was received at Border Police yesterday afternoon (Monday).”

Ms Naisoro has urged anyone with information on Mr Anand’s whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers on 919.

Staff at the Golden Age Home declined to comment on the matter when contacted yesterday by the Fiji Sun.

Meanwhile, 15-year-old Saphire Morin, who was reported missing by her mother, has returned home safely.

She was last seen by her mother in town on Sunday afternoon and was told not to go for her school choir practice.

But when she failed to return home, she was reported missing at the Totogo Police Station.

Ms Naisoro said Saphire was staying at a friend’s house in Nadera and she failed to communicate her whereabouts to her parents.
