Six-Day Disruption To Water Supply

Six-Day Disruption To Water Supply

Residents of Lautoka have been urged to start storing water before a major disruption to supply starts tonight.

The disruption to elevated residential areas of Lautoka City will start from 10pm today until 6am next Tuesday.

Water Authority of Fiji’s general manager customer services and acting general manager operations, Sekove Uluinayau urged Lautoka residents to store water as soon as possible.

The shutdown is to allow WAF to carry out major repair works on the leaking 711mm MSCL tee along the Vaturu- Nagado high pressure raw water pipeline at Batiri, near the Vaturu Dam.

WAF has placed 100 water tanks in nearly all villages and communities which will face water disruption and 19 trucks will be deployed to refill the tanks and cart water to its customers.
