Six New Records This Coca-Cola Games

Six New Records This Coca-Cola Games

Six records were broken in the 2019 Coca-Cola Games following the three days competition which culminated at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

  • The first record was set on day one by Ratu Kadavulevu School javelin thrower Vilimoni Susunikoro who erased the old record of 47.63metres set in 2017 by Simione Koliloa of St John’s College. Susunikoro threw a new distance of 50.52m.
  • Xavier College senior girl’s high jumper and national rep Shawntell Lockington set a new record of 1.68m erasing the six-year record of 1.65 set in 2013 by Diana Maramanikaibau.
  • MBHS Orisi Navavau broke the intermediate boy’s Shot put record with a throw of 15.99m. The old record of 15.76 was set by former schoolmate Kaliopasa Uluilakeba in 2016.
  • Surprisingly Sigatoka Methodist High Joana Vakasobuduru set a new record in the sub junior girls long jump with a leap of 5.07m erasing the old record of 4.99m set by Mereseini Waqatoki of Suva Grammar in 2016.
  • MBHS’Christian Taukei set a new record in the sub junior boys’ discus with a throw of 38.93m.
  • Amy Peters of Jai Narayan College broke a record in the sub junior girls Shot put with a new throw of 11.47m erasing the two years record set in 2017 by Tokasa Waqanisauvaki of ACS with a throw of 10.97m.
