My son is a child of God, were the words of 37-year- old Anaseini Adi who gave birth to her fourth son, Jalesi Nakarawa, yesterday at 2.17am.

He was the first baby born at the CWM Hospital on Good Friday. He weighed 4.50 kilograms at the time of birth.

From midnight to 10.30am, a total of nine babies were born at the maternity unit in Suva.

The Nabukadra Village in Nakotobu, Ra, woman said of all four boys, her son’s birth was special because it coincided with the Christian belief that Christ sacrificed his life on this day so that our sins would be cleansed.

Hence, her son’s birth was a new beginning.

“I am very happy that I gave birth to my son on Good Friday which is a day to remember the sacrifices of Lord Jesus,” she said.

She said her son was a blessing and thanked God for his health.
