3-Year-Old Of Lovoni Village, Ovalau Dies After Slipping Into Drain
A 3-year-old boy died after slipping into a drain yesterday morning in Lovoni Village in Ovalau.
This was confirmed by Fiji Police Chief Operations Officer ACP Maretino Qiolevu.
“The victim allegedly tried to jump over the drain but slipped and hit the drain and was rushed to the Bureta Health Center where he was pronounced dead.
ACP Qiolevu said with the current weather warnings in place, members of the public need to adhere to the safety advisories being issued.
“Parents and guardians need to closely monitor their children as this is not a time to be playing in flooded areas.”
