The Korovuto Sanatan foot­ball team will miss one of their dedicated players who was cremated at the Nacovi Cem­etery in Nadi yesterday.

Korovuto Sanatan and National Sanatan Sports wing president Pravin Singh made the comment as families, relatives and teammates bade farewell to Manoj Kumar.

The 47-year-old collapsed and later died a at the Sigatoka Hospital dur­ing the 60th Shree Sanatan Inter-District Championship in Tuva, Sigatoka last Saturday.

Singh said it was a sad day for the Korovuto football community.

“He was a close friend,” he said.

“He played for our team for the last 18 to 20 years and a very dedi­cated and helpful person.

“We are going to miss him as he normally played a leading role for the team.

“We lost a very important man and it is a sad day for Korovuto Sanatan and the Korovuto community.”

Kumar is survived by his wife and three children.

Meanwhile, Fiji FA chief execu­tive officer Mohammed Yusuf said they will await the report from the organisation before they make a de­cision.
