Virgin Mary saga

Pictures of the Virgin Mary statue continue to surface in Catholic forums.

But for some reason the head of the Catholic Church in Fiji, Archbishop Peter Loy Chong, is delaying issuing his statement on the “Weeping Mary”. This is after parish members in Wairiki, Taveuni, claimed they saw and touched Mary’s “tears” two weeks ago.

They also testified that they were spiritually edified by the experience.

But after BTL ran the story, everyone seems to have gone quiet, including Archbishop Loy Chong.

He was supposed to explain this phenomenon which has been experienced in other countries. Are the “tears” genuine or fake? Those who were touched by Mary described it as a miracle. It is understood that Archbishop Loy Chong has completed his investigations and would prepare a statement about the “tears”.
Squatter for Sale

Yet another house in a squatter area has been put up for sale. This time it is a house with a shop which is up for grabs. People who are willing to purchase such a lot need to be mindful that they are not covered by any legal means of seeking redress in the event they are evicted. Many of these homes are not insured, the electricity and water connections are often done through dubious means. Be wary of such dodgy deals.
NFP Leadership?

Nationals Federation Party has been very quiet about the failure of their leader to secure more seats in Parliament. While at one stage the chatter was that Biman Prasad would gracefully retire from politics, there seems to be a sudden calm on this subject.
