Patel To Retain Fiji FA President’s Job

Fiji Football Association’s Rajesh Patel is likely to retain the post of presidency during the Fiji FA Congress set for May 3 in Lautoka.
A release from Fiji FA media stated that chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf has confirmed that Patel is the only candidate at the moment. Yusuf said that only Patel was eligible to file his nomination.
“Pursuant to article 40.3 of the Fiji FA statute, I hereby declare that Mr Rajesh Patel is the only candidate for the president, “said Yusuf.
“I can further confirm that Mr Patel is eligible to file his nomination before the due date on April 26.”
He confirmed that Patel’s name was proposed by 19 full members as candidate for the office of president.
“No other names were proposed by the closing date, “confirmed Yusuf.
FIFA APPOINTMENT
Patel recently became the first Fijian to be appointed as a FIFA Council member.
The Fiji FA annual congress will be held during the 2019 Vodafone Fiji FACT tournament.
