Thank You Fiji: Our Sri Lankans

Iwrite with a heavy heart, on behalf of the Sri Lankan community working and residing in Fiji.
Each and every one of us are overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of support and concern we have received from all of Fiji, during one of the darkest periods in our motherland.
Thank you, Honourable Prime minister for you message of condolence and encouragement.
It means a lot to us Sir that you are genuinely concerned about what happened in Sri Lanka and also about our welfare in Fiji.
Thank you to all the organisations that arranged for vigils to commemorate the deceased and support our community.
Thank you to all the Members of Parliament, the Honourable Attorney- General, former Chief Justice and Leader of Opposition, who attended these vigils and shared your thoughts with us and showed us your support and solidarity. Thank you Honourable Biman Prasad for your message of sympathy.
Thank you to the many friends and colleagues all over Fiji who have called us, visited us and sent messages inquiring if our families and friends back home were safe and to show us their solidarity and support.
I have been inundated with calls and messages from Fijians of all ethnicity, offering words of comfort and sympathy.
Our Sri Lankan community in Fiji which consists of all the different races and religions have always lived in Fiji as one, in fact most of my closest friends are of different races and religions.
They are all still in shock and are trying to come to terms with the heinous atrocities that were committed in our motherland on Easter Sunday causing death and devastation to so many innocent souls.
We are all extremely grateful that we are among friends, in our home away from home.
Thank you Fiji, we also ask you to please keep our motherland in your thoughts and prayers. We need your prayers to help us recover from this tragedy.
Thank you
