Alleged Drug Trafficker Fails To Make Appearance

An accused person in remand did not appear for his bail consideration before High Court Judge, Justice Rangajeeva Wimalasena yesterday.

The accused Justin Ho, was not in court when his name was called.

The Police officer, escorting those in remand, said they only brought to court those whose names were submitted to the them.

In court the State counsel sought seven days to file response to bail and said that they intended to object the bail application.

The Judge has allowed seven days for the State Counsel to file response.

Justin Ho, is charged with unlawful importation and exportation of illicit drugs and also being in possession, as well as the manufacture and cultivation of illicit drugs.

It is alleged that the accused facilitated in the exporting of two parcels of cocaine and illicit drugs weighting 2015.7 grams without lawful authority on December 23 of 2018 in Nadi.

Ho will remain in remand and is set to appear on May 2 for hearing.
