Freesoul Real Estate  Development (Fiji) PTE Ltd, which allegedly undertook unauthorised developments on Malolo Island in the Mamanuca Group, fronted the court yesterday.

The company’s case was called in the Nadi Magistrates Court before Magistrate Peni Dalituicama.

The company was represented by their lawyer, David Toganivalu and was assisted by Project Officer Saula Sovanivalu.

The company is currently charged with two separate counts; one count of undertaking unauthorised developments and one count of failure to comply with a prohibition notice under the Environment Management Act 2005.

The court heard that Freesoul Real Estate Development (Fiji) PTE Ltd breached its assessment and failed to comply with orders given on June 1, 2018 regarding the company’s project works in Malolo, Nadroga in the Western Division.

The case has been adjourned to May 24 for disclosures.
