Land Can Only Be Surveyed If Designated: Ratumudu

There are conditions in place that land needs to be designated before it is surveyed by the Land Use Division.
Those words were reiterated by the Land Use Division Director Taraivini Ratumudu during the Landowners Workshop at the Warwick Resort on the Coral Coast, on Wednesday.
Ms Ratumudu said, “There are conditions and procedures for the surveyor to survey your land. The land has to be designated. We have a policy that we abide to.
We can only survey your land if it is designated.”
Atunaisa Qorovarua representative Serua in Korolevu requested for a land expert to survey the division of their land for development.
He said, “We understand the role of the Land Bank. We have invested part of our land to the Land Use Division. The part of the Land Bank is to provide a surveyor as we want to build a hotel on that part of land.
“We have a piece of land at the coastal side of Nadroga, in between Votua Koro and Naviti resort. Since 2012 until last year, we have completed every paper work of our land.
One thing about the land bank is that it provided us with the surveyor but we need a land expert who is skillful in the development use of our land.”
