Man, 23, facing robbery charge seeks Commission’s help

A 23-year-old man facing robbery charges will have his bail ruling heard next month.

Ame Nacokotu is charged with one count of aggravated robbery.

He appeared at the High Court in Suva before Justice Daniel Goundar yesterday.

It is alleged that on December 15, 2018, at Nasinu, Nacokotu allegedly robbed the complainant of his Samsung Note mobile phone valued at $2000 and immediately before the offence; the accused allegedly used force on the complainant.

State Prosecutor from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Swastika Sharma sought 21 days to file information and disclosures.

The accused opted to seek Legal Aid Commission representation.

The case was adjourned to May 3 for bail hearing.
