A 36-year-old labourer who is facing a charge for allegedly stabbing his cousin appeared at the High Court in Suva yesterday.

Emosi Ranuve appeared before Justice Daniel Goundar.

He is charged with one count of act with intent to cause grievous harm.

It is alleged that on March 3, 2019, at Laucala Beach Estate in Nasinu, the accused allegedly stabbed his 37-year-old cousin brother after a drinking session.

State Prosecutor from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions Rajneel Kumar told the court that the medical report of the complainant is yet to be filed.

He sought for further time from court to file information and further disclosures.

Justice Goundar granted the accused bail with strict bail conditions.

He ordered the accused to report to the Nabua Police Station every Saturday between 6am and 6pm, not to interfere with any of the prosecution witnesses, not to change his residential address without the court’s approval.

The case was transferred to Justice Riyaz Hamza for plea on June 10.
