Labasa Focus On Pool Games

The Labasa football team officials are working hard to ensure they have a strong side for this weekend’s Vodafone
Fiji FACT tournament at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
Dubbed the Babasiga Lions, they have been strengthened with the inclusion of striker Ravinesh
Karan Singh, Vuniuci Tikomaimereke and Asaeli Batikasa, a Year 13 student of Labasa College.
Team manager Nilesh Lal told SUNsports for this year this would the first time for Singh and Tikoimereke to play for Labasa.
“Former Labasa striker like Maciu Damudamu who is currently playing for Savusavu has joined the team to build on his fitness. He has been helping us during our training sessions,” Lal said.
“Former Labasa coach and teacher Ronil Lal has also joined the team to assist our coach
Anand Sami. We are training at Bucalevu Primary School ground.
“Our first aim is to get through the pool games as we will be facing tough matches against Lautoka, Tavua and Suva.
“While we are preparing strongly we urge people of Labasa to come forward to support us in Lautoka,” he added.
